New Smyrna "Spot Check"

    yeah i saw that.. it looks like a really cool beach but i checked the forecast and it was the same as everywhere near it. I think every day is an exaggeration.

    i believe it picks up more swell than areas to the south....i.e. cocoa beach area. I was down there last year (mid summer) and kept driving the hour north to NSB and finding waves like this when it was knee-waist at best high elsewhere. In spots like this it was pretty obvious there were sand bars on the bottom forming nice wedgy peaks out of the small background swell.

    I agree - no place on the east coast is waist - chest every day, every other day or anything close. NSB is just a consistent spot that seems to bump up the size a bit over surrounding areas.

    new smyrna is awsome i stayed there for a week and got good waves everyday. driving on the beach is the best part you just keep goin till u find a good spot and the waves are always fun. nice size and powerful kinda like jersey but there is sand bars for miles. sick party scene too
