    There is a new buoy located right off the ocean city inlet that reports winds and water temp.

    This is now on the Swellinfo buoy data map, and is the location for the Swellinfo current Ocean City, MD winds and water temp.

    Word to yo momma.

    id = OCIM2.

    Its a Swellinfo buoy. No j/k, Its a national ocean service buoy.

    Its on the Swellinfo Buoy Map, coastal buoy (red circle) - the only one over ocean city.

    haha thanks for the info........... that would be awesome if you started to deploy your own network of buoy's in the mid-Atlantic. I wonder how much one of these bad boys costs?

    I bet its more than 100 grand. Then there are maintenance costs and the costs of monitoring the data.

    Next time you are tempted to complain about taxes, think about all the things we get for our money.

    why do you suppose there are four wind speed and direction detectors. Seems excessive, or maybe if one brakes, who knows.......

    They are called anemometers. I think they break pretty easily.

    Why do you need such a mammoth just for wind speed and water temp.
    Give me the 100 Grand+ you would normally spend on one of these and I'll swim out there once or twice a day and give you a report.

    Water Temp: Fu<king Cold

    Wind Speed: Not as fu<king windy as yesterday

    that buoy actually has more data than our smaller Mid-Atlantic counterparts, like swell-direction for instance.... check it out: http://ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=41048

    lol and i prefer wind speeds that don't utilize the "relative cussing scale", they tend to be inaccurate

    you just linked to the bermuda buoy. The new ocean city buoy does not measure waves.
