This should start a pretty good argument/discussion!

post school graduation i'll more than likely be moving up to jersey from the ocean city, md area. Surfing all jersey for quite a while now ive hit some spots pretty good and some not so good.

My question is..given a choice...whats the best spot for surf in jerz? as far as consistency is my question i suppose.

Hit me up with some advice. Wheres the spot...and lets not be greedy and act all macho and hold back bc its your special spot and dont want it taken over. I dont stand up paddle board and im actually quite non-selfish in the water. lol As i think more people should be.

Lets hope this swell turns out this week

lets clarify...im talking like general areas...A.C, O.C, Monmouth Cape May im not like asking for directions to your break...simple geographical areas might be useful.

Goddamn. Its going to happen one way or another. Surf will happen and I will be there...figured some fellow surfers would understand.

    Jersey Rocks!

For New Jersey, You need one rule. I can help you with that! South swell, go way north. North swell go south. Ground swell, Micah is right...the juice in central. Generally speeking of, the vague set-up I have described to you will get you the most quality for the swell. I like hi perfomance-rippable short board esque waves, but all of my favorite spots in NJ have loggers and boogers. In my mind I have always found nj richer the nc for waves. There is a lot, a WHOLE LOT of places to surf good and be alone. Yup...alone. So go explore. Nj rocks!

  7. Nj Spots

We have found the best spots via internet and they are listed up the coast from Cape May up to Sandy hook, depends on what you are looking for, some places attract more crowds, or are more "locals" beaches.
Might be a good idea to ask where the worst place is to go on the jersey shore, no one wants to be on a locals beach on "good"day :D

    We speak from experience :(

check out the cove on sandy hook. when the swell is right the point break works pretty well. I'm goofy and I love it so I can't imagine how much I would love it would be if I was regular...

I am looking to switch careers here in the hopefuly not so distant future and obviously want to stay as close to the coast as possible. What kind of job prospects are there in Coastal Jersey? Trying to stay away from NYC, but want to live closer to the coast that Dover, Newark, DC, etc...

    Jersey Jobs

They have Casinos of course, and then there are skeeball arcades. :D It all depends upon what sort of job you had in mind. Teachers are needed just about everywhere, but don't count on the highest salary. Job security is not bad though.

This can be a significant problem around here. Along the delmarva coast, there isn't a whole lot of industry outside of the retail, real estate, tourist, construction, food industries. Jersey has more going on if you go inland a bit or to the north (as you approach the city). I'd say first narrow down what your interested in doing, then go from there...

I just started school again to get my MBA/ Master in Finance, so something in Finance. So I figure in about a year when I am half way through the program I will start looking. Only thing around here is Purdue, then there is a ton up in Wilmington but that is too far. Considering looking in LA, my wife's friend lives out there, but not too sure, it's real expensive and far...

Monmouth County has a big Navy base, right? Dover has a lot of jobs on the AFB so I was trying to find out more about there...
