I think a company called Doomswell posts on here if you do a search. Not sure what area of the TX they are though. Edit: They are in Webster, just north of Galveston
I know of a few in Galveston. One is James Fulbright of "Step into Liquid" fame. He shapes Senator boards in his shop. The shop is "Strictly Hardcore Surf Specialties" on 37th and Ave R. He is a great guy who has been shaping for a long time. The shop has been there for over 25 years. Another is Terry Davis. He shapes some awesome boards at a very fair price. He can do that because it's not his fulltime income. I know several people that surf his boards. Some only surf his boards. My room mate just had one shaped by him and I am about to talk to him about getting one shaped for me. I don't have his number on me but I can get it. I hear that Bob Martin (who was the original shaper of Hurricane boards before he sold the name to Fullbright) still does some shaping but I wouldn't know how to get ahold of him.
Hard to find a shaper to do his 2 hours of work. We glassers have a week of work on each board if it's epoxy. let me know if you need a glasser. hard to surf a piece of foam that's just shaped.
and Bingo is making kick ass boards right now because he has a bad ass glasser. i dont know how long he will be there, but he has made bingos boards look good for the past 3 months.
James Fulbright in G-Town is legendary... check him out at Hardcore Surf Specialties on 37th and R. Tell Deb and James I said Hi!
Plenty of good ones You mean you? Is this some kind of joke pimping Bingo's boards? luvmonkey, ignore Les, he is a rat.
Nice first post! I see you didn't do your homework before you started calling me a rat. I'm a Senior Member(5 years) and have tons of photos and over 100 videos uploaded to this site that i filmed and edited! What have you done on swell info besides make an account just to talk SHlT? YOU'RE THE RAT! Think about what you say next time! back to topic, I have a 5'7" 23" wide 2 3/4" thick, new, never been in the water, made for Texas surf. It's your for $300. You wont find a Texas board anywhere besides Texas. It's hard to find a board on the East and West Coast that's made for Mushy, choppy, wind swell, crap like we mostly get here.
There is a decent size underground shaping community popping up in TX. We've been shipping a lot of blanks and materials to 'backyard' surfboard and wakeskate shapers. It's nice to see guys shaping boards specifically for Texas surf. Cali and EC shapers don't know your waves! How can they make what you need? ~Brian www.greenlightsurfsupply.com Shape Your Surfing Experience
