here in florida alot of people ride a local shapers board call "Starr" boards. Ive literally ridden it in everything from shin high to over head with a twin set up, quad set up, 5 fin set up. It sounds wierd but I wouldnt recomend any other board for small to good waves, and Im a devout channel islands fan. It handles everything from florida to california and NEVER lets me down. Definately worth a look and the prices are good for custom shapes http://www.thecoresurfshop.com/shop/starrrocket
sweet! do you also make wet suites? i'm looking for something i can wear both in the summer and in winter.
Looks like crap to me. Where is your intro post?? Aren't you aware you are supposed to post naked pictures of your girlfriend prior to being accepted by the SI regulars?? kids today....
funny how somebody signed up to ask that question, and then somebody signed up to answer with an unknown shaper.... All within about an hour... I'm guessing nesurf5 = kodakber = starr
Here in Florida we all ride longboards when it's small and ride SUP's when it's pumping. The guys you see riding shorties are kooks.
"best" small wave board is pretty vague. If by "best" you mean catches 1-2 foot waves easily, gets speed and lets you connect a bunch of turns in waves so small most higher performance board will just bog down, then this: Go very short and with low rocker - for me at 155 pounds it would be something in the 5'4" range Go very wide in the nose and tail - for me a board in the mid 5 foot range would be about 22" wide Quad fins with the fins out on the rail, and use small fins. Not a longboard, unless you want to ride a longboard, which is also a great option. EPS core to keep it light...its amazing how much you notice the extra board weight in weak waves. This is the best shape I have come up with for knee-thigh high waves:
yeah..well...that's a homemade attempt, but thanks. I am really impressed by Stretch's boards, super lightweight, and very well constructed. If I were buying a small wave board right now for next summer, I would probably go with a stretch like this in the 5'5" x 21 3/4" x 2 1/2" range:
One man's ace is another man's foil. Seems like you guys need to list rider dims, as Mitchell did, before saying a board is / isn't good in certain types of waves. In small surf, what Mitchell can ride at his listed 155 lbs is vastly different than what a 210 lb rider can, or should, ride in those same conditions. EX: stock dims on the CI AJ run from 5'1 to 6'1 & from 27 litres to nearly 50 litres.
not to mention that jesus aka mr. belmar is in on it too.. didn't even take him 8 hours to reply... suspect.
i don't see a "for sale" sign, where is it? also this pic looks like a sh1tty Photoshop job of two pics going panorama. how much for the children, already?
superbrand fling, lost puddle jumper, lost couch potato, lsd tex i ride a shortie whenever i can. I'm a new englander. i eat table scraps.
