I use to live in Wilmington and surfed WB a lot but we moved further south for a new job. I live 5 minutes from either OIB or SB but can't seem to figure out the best time for waves. Sometimes it can be awesome at WB but then be flat here. So what's the best swell direction and wind for Sunset Beach or Ocean Isle Beach. My guess is south swell with North wind?
Oh, I thought you meant THE Sunset Beach. After my experience with that wave I was gonna say chest/shoulder high unless you want the beating of your life. Ocean Isle, S/SE or a big NE'ster. Lived there back in the 90's.
havanasand, thanks for the info. this past summer there were about 3 weekends in a row where i got some waist high sloppy waves but other than that its not too good down here. but, if it ever does go off, I'm usually one out of 5 in the water : )
