I ride a 5'8" CI skinny fish and it came with the FAM 1 fins for all 4 (composite). I love the hold I get with them but I think it is holding back the speed I should be getting. After looking at the Futures website there are a lot of combinations to use im just not sure what to go with. Does anyone ride anything they love that gives them speed and hold or any other recommendations?

    Thanks

Post this in the new design forum thread! I have a quad but its more of a grovler than a fish but i use Future Controller fins, they have tons of drive and turns easily but thats incorporated into the design, but the fins help.

i have ridden a number of different quad setups on fish style boards and prefer future controllers as the best all around setup with lots of drive and the v2q4's for a loose and skate-like feel on real short boards (under 5.6) in waves up to chest high. my advice would be to find a shop with a futures fin tree...

Good call! It's there and thanks by the way for the responses.

The only thing I see wrong with the controllers are they are for larger riders (according to the futures website). I am only 5'8" 160 I am afraid these would create too much drag.

We are the exact same size, and I love them in my board. But like i said my board is designed to work witht he controllers, it has quite a bit of Vee in the tail and a bump wing right infront of the fins to also help turn. The controllers are sick. They are expesive at $100 but I love mine. Not sure what the CI skinny fish design and bottom countours are but a big fat tail loves some controllers

Thanks for the recommendation, I appreciate your response - I will look more into these and def. consider them. I actually recently discovered that rasta is coming out with a quad future fin set up this month that I want to look into as well.

The skinny fish has a typical retro fish tail but is thinner in the nose and throughout the board to make more performance oriented.

VII Q1's are an excellent fish fin for boards with pulled in tails like retros and double wing cut downs

I've been reading alot about the Controllers... but all my boards are FCS. Is there a FCS fin that's comparable to the Controllers?
