The washout cam sucks. I've found if the Tides cam is down, it's because you and I and everyone else is checking the waves, which means it's good.

If you install one, try to have a flag or tree in the picture so you can see the wind direction and speed.

i dunno sht about technology n that applies to cost of a web page. but i'm sure ppl thought about it n prob did make it private. it'd make sense if u was in a surf club, then membership fees could help. i didn't look into much, but saw cameras were like 2Gs, but i'm sure there's some cheap tech that you can get. being that i got a beach house, it'd be pretty easy to use rooftop or neighbors to set up. anyhow, not talking about whoreing it out and very not serious about it, jsut keeps coming up when *****n about cams being down

Maybe just drive to the beach. Sounds easier and more effective

depends on traffic, lotta ppl in these here parts since we're #1 destination in all those travel magz. clemsurf prolly checks out Coastal Carolina Surf Club cam since he's on that side of town, and that one does screen shots every cpl minutes. and it's a crap shot too. saw an article, not recent, saying surfline cam with install costs like $7,500 and they consider putting it in places where the crowds won't complain bout it

i've been doing barry cuda's advise, just open the door/window and listen to the waves. also effective
