Anyone ever think of surfing down there? Getting an airboat and heading to the beaches. Because dudess its going to be going off. I think it would be a cool experience.
Can't wait to see some photos of gulf waves from this event. That said, I'm dreading seeing photos of the Texas gulf coast. Man those folks are going to get slammed. Hope they all GTFO of there
I just saw him stand up for a nano second. That Waimea looking beast was in the Gulf? Wow! I'd be scared aboot getting in, getting good waves, then getting trapped or hit by the storm surge. Would be very gnarly.
He just got a fast right, cutback left, then another cutback in the shorie. Waist high plus. No airs, no pizzas, but he can surf. 4.5 Prediction: someone is gonna get swept off that jetty while taking photos.
probably not. The delta is all shallow silt...pretty sure any waves there would be gutless as well as muddy and sharky. Port Fourchon is the only beach in that area reported to get a surfable wave, but only after freezing winter cold fronts and the occasional hurricane. There are also a couple of jettys and inlet setups on the neighboring barrier islands to the east of Fourchon that probably turn on during a hurricane swell, but definitely not worth the crazy trek it would take to get there at just the right time.
