I generally always buy a RipCurl wetsuit when it's time for a new one but I found a Quiksilver one that fit really good and cost quite a bit less. Anybody out there wear a Quiksilver suit and have anything good or bad to say about them? I'm just looking for a \"cheaper\" 3/2 to get me through the warmer winter months.

i hate my old quiksilver suit, two years and there holes everywhere from deteriorating stitching. I own rip curl and oneill wetsuits and love them both. i would stay away from quiksilver if i was you.
    Best of luck

Brahs...didn't you read the sign at the door?? It reads: NO WETTY THREADS

The three of you are pardoned because of the namesake of the second poster. Quite a fine name.

Hands down the best suit I have ever owned was the Xcel Infinity I bought last year! Not saying there aren't other good ones out there, however as far as wetsuits I have bought and tested this one by far is superior! (and I have gone through a lot of suits)

I actually bought my son one first and after he let me try it I ran to the surf shop to buy one for myself! Not only does it keep you super warm but its like having nothing on! Its super light and flexible! I would prefer back zips but I will make the sacrifice. This suit is just that good!

This year I'm going with the Xcel Revolt Therodry!!!

Yeah man a lot of dudes were pi$$ed after the d ick's sale on quik suits, said they'd never buy them again. I have no personal experience w/ quiksilver suits...O'neill, rip curl and xcel gear has all worked well for me.

Hey Emass, one thing i've noticed, you are using alot of "surfer" vocabulary like brah for instince. Do you just think its cool or do you really, seriously talk like that all the time? Don't take it too seriously, i mean, it doesn't annoy me or anyone else probably.

Same, I guess it doesn't really matter that I missed that sale. Although, it WAS only 57 bucks. I mostly stick to oneill and xcel boots and gloves. Actually all three of my suits are oneill (mutant (use it all winter) youth epic 3/2, and an s/s full back zip) and i'm thinking of getting a more heavy duty ripcurl suit. Probably not an f bomb, but i've been looking at the e bomb 5/4 youth. I also recently purchased a pair of 7 mil. oneill booties. Can't wait to use them. What about hyperflex suits like this one: thumb.jpg . Does anyone have any experience with these? It wouldn't suit me though because if you wear a fn american flag wetsuit you gotta rip. I'm better off with black.

I've got a Quik Cypher 4/3 that I love, super warm and flexible. Just a bit of a pain in the ass to get on and off.

Wait I just realized there are rules on this forum... How the heck am I not banned? I'm pretty sure I insultingly swear while threateningly discussing illegal sexually explicit activity with every post I make. Maybe someone's just deleting my posts and I am not noticing...

ha - I saw a guy wearing that same suit and though "damn, he must be really good". He was in shape and looked like a surfer, new hpsb and everything...but he paddles out and he was a complete beginner who didn't look like he had enough coordination to ever be any good

anyway, imo, all med to higher end suits are the same because the neoprene in all of them die at about the same time...which is about the same time the seams start going (1 year warranties are there for a reason).

I went with o'neill last year just because their 2013 psycho is 20% lighter than their previous model (which would be about 40% lighter than a rip curl f-bomb). I just sent in the o'neill for 1 year warranty seam repair and, instead of fixing it, they sent me back a brand new suit...same thing happened with rip curl a few years back.

anyway, go for the least expensive suit. Send it in for warranty repairs right before it expires (or before, if anything leaks) and buy some neoprene glue to maybe extend it's life an extra year. DO NOT repair it yourself before the warranty is over or you may void it

I have an old 5/4 that lasted 4 seasons and only really has frayed wrists. I have a new Quik 543 that's light and comfortable but not nearly as warm as an F bomb 54. I doubt the new 543 will last as long as my old 54, idk. I heard from a reputable wholesaler that Quick sucks at customer service (warranty). I haven't had to warranty anything with them so I haven't experienced that.
I got the f bomb 54 last winter and the zipper broke the second time I wore it. I sent it back to the wholesaler and got the Quik 543. Ripcurl would have taken care of it though, and it was a nice suit except the zipper.
    Good luck.

I've had a few quicksilver suits over the years and they were all terrible. Meanwhile every RipCurl and Xcel I've ever bought has been anywhere from good to great.

not a fan, but I have never tried a top of the line one. The synchro is gabage. Xcel for life. Considering a tattoo.

News Flash: Virtually every surf wetsuit is made by the same company: Sheico.
The only suits that aren't made by them are the ones that use Yamamoto neoprene from Japan (Isurus, Matuse).
In my experience, sometimes you get great suits, sometimes you get (leaky) duds. This applies to EVERY brand I have ever tried. I'm mostly an Xcel guy, too, because I like the fit and the features (drylock). But I get leaky ones probably 1 out of 3 times.

The original Quiksilver Cell is still probably my favorite suit of all time. I actually burned through a Flash Bomb and was still able to go back to the Cell many years later. Granted the Cell was their top of the line suit, but I was still pleasantly surprised in the durability. I ordered the Syncro short sleeve a month or so ago. Ended up returning it because of the uncomfortable materials. If you believe you found the gem, go with it.

Just got my R2 Chest Zip in today. I won't be sending this one back
