Hey SISURFDOGG I saw in the news that a surfer got shark bite on his hand when he was paddling out today with lots of stitches on Singer Island. Do you know the guy? It was really sharkey up here Saturday, they were all over the place.
I've been cloistered all day behind the desk, paying penance for all the waves over the weekend, trying to get my life in order before the next pulse. I saw the guys photo on the news, I've seen him out there. He got bit not too bad on his hand,he had to punch the spinner to make him let go. Singer Island is a giant ball of bait. I was just saying this to my buddy, who is another old SI local. We were surfing in a crowd yesterday morning, a few miles north of our local. We both agreed it is much safer where we were at. Neither of us knew about the incident. Another lady got her leg tore up on Palm Beach. Be safe out there Betty! I fear the lone dawn patrol session this time of year. It's nice to have someone there on the beach to call 911,just in case.
It crosses my mind every morning, but I paddle out. I figure if it's my turn, it's my turn. I saw lots of activity in the water last couple sessions. I would tell you to be safe out there but reality is nothing you can do other than don't go in. That ain't happening so good luck!
Yeah. The article made it sound like he had to punch the 7 ft spinner or else it would pull him under. Then, later he fished and pulled out a spinner, claimed it was the one that bit him, killed it, smoked it, ate it. Saturday there were dozens swimming around in the knee deep shore pound area. They looked like juveniles except one. There were no bait fish around. Conditiins were bad. After about 45 minutes, my buddies chickened out, so that ended the sesh. Just as well, I guess...
