Hey Joe,

I wouldn't put skegs on your BB. If you want to try a fast board with fins that you can ride prone, I have some different boards you can try (kneeboards and an old school Paipo board). You can arm paddle all 3 into waves or you can wear foot fins. Hopefully my tires will remain inflated and we can meetup soon so you can try them out. They are super fun, plus the KBs give you the option of easier kneeriding than riding DK on your BB.

I've acctualy got an old school morey twin fin my buddy gave me, I'ld guess it's from mid 70's and it's a load of fun

I wanted to know how they work? What do they do? How do they help you?

 

there used to be a kyle maligro board with fins. Don't know if it exists anymore, but you could do a search for it. You shouldnt need fins on a bodyboard to drop knee. You use your tailing feet fin as your rudder.

 

Wow. Is it a Morey Mach 20 RS (Retractable Skegs)? If so, I first saw it in the very early 90s.

IMHO: No need for skegs when you wear fins. With skegs, you'll be restricted to ride in the designated surfing zones on beach, if/when applicable.

 

I found a slick lizard 33 boogie board on the beach and put two fins in it. It was so much fun....the best in epic shorebreak. So much hold and travel.

You know I was trying to remember that model board, and couldn't for the life of me. I recall my neighbor had one, and at the time it was considered the flagship of Moreys line of bodyboards. I'm trying to remember, but I believe the product year was 91-93. The board was sliver in color with blue text from what I remember, and did feature retractable skegs. Only bad part is that the retractable locks on the skegs would occassionally get boogered up with sand, making it hard to close and open.

At the time, I owned a Mach 7-7 and was envious of that awesome board. Later, I purchased a Mach 7-SS Jay Reale Edition, and never looked back. Damn I miss that board!
