I don't understand why people leave gross crusty wax when trying to sell boards..you are just making your board look less valuable.
1. strip wax with wax comb flat edge 2. use foam dust from shapers bay to remove the rest. it grabs the wax up perfectly.
I got kicked off a "surfing" site where a poster actually asked "How do I remove the wax from my board?". And he wasn't trolling. A lot of stupid questions like that. And when a few of the crusty experienced guys threw some monkey doo at him, the site kicked them off. I'm glad SI doesn't do that.
when I buy boards with wax on them- I always try to talk down the price way more- cause generally the boards are looking like garbage. and you say that- man this board looks like garbage. anyways- fyi its NG for the board to use direct heat- like leaving it in the sun or a heater or any kinda heat source. Try using a cup full of hot water from your sink. it will take a few cups, but is better for the fiberglass. and actually works better and is faster then other methods, even in the middle of winter.
I once traded in a board with a bunch of dings I covered with little beer stickers lol.I only got a free leash and 50 bucks towards a new board which wasn't shyt, then seen them selling the same stick for 250. id say my worse exchange I did when I was a kid I returned a paintball gun with a co2 and a jammed paintball stuck in the thing.the sports guy was out that day, seen him a few days later he said he never would've taken the gun back. anyway I like dirty waxed up boards.
I've bought 6 used boards 4 totally waxed 1 from a female all wax removed and clean 1 from a teen all wax removed and clean
Just a guess this originated from my board posted earlier today... my response: I just finished charging twenty foot Belmar and was pressed for time picking up the long lost Paddington Jetty Bear from his crusade around east asia chasing typhoons and five dollar hookers. Next time, I'll clean off the wax
