I'm heading to Ocean City this summer with my family and was wondering if anyone had any info about the spots, breaks, locals and what not.

    Thanks

I would avoid 36th,48th and the inlet due to crowding.

OC is one long beach break. There are no "spots." Pick a street, find a sandbar, if there is one and surf. I would stay away from the streets above if you do not surf there on a regular basis.

Ocean City has had a good amount of shark attacks and sightings when the swell gets to be about overhead or larger. Someone got their leg amputated because they got attacked on 48th street this winter. Don't go to 48th or 36th. I heard Rehoboth Beach is always firing, though.

The better first question is...are you talking about MD or NJ?

poor newbie, getting thrashed around like a little grom in the white water. In Ocean City, MD the entire town can break, just have to search around for the best sand bars. The past few years down town has been better, but every year is different.
