    Yeah, it is.

Don't believe the pictures. It took all day to get that shot.

Go to New York...out east, or Delaware. New York has real waves and in Delaware you only have to paddle-out five feet that's if you don't have a ski.

    New Jersey is harsh.

If you ask me, most guys are surfing on the wrong side of New Jersey. The Pennsylvania side gets all the real waves.

I have documented the spots in Camden way up the Delaware where huge SE swells light up a magical stretch of coast.

In front of the old state prison, on the north side, had its days.

There are rumors of a classic left point up in Burlington. The New Yorkshire neighborhood goes off too.

NJ gets the shots cause we have the best surfers, waves and photographers in the northeast if not the whole east coast. All packed into about 100 miles of coastline.

PS. I know there is a famous bald guy and a pair of twins from Florida.

PSS: Hatteras has Matt Lusk & Brett Barley

noooooooo I would say florida has the best surfers, not the best waves, and the best photogs.in nj photogs are spreading like roaches.we need raid to kill them.

florida is the best place to be a surfer and heres why.
#1 u have to have money to live in florida.not wealthy but comfortable
#2 surf trips to the carribean and central America are cheap as fauk
    #3 I do not know

why nj is the worst place to be a surfer
    #1 beach replenishment
    #2 beach replenishment
    #3 beach replenishment.

we would have a lot better waves are more consistency if they left the sand alone

Yeah. That was the best I've ever see it there. It was perfect. Nice weather, warm water and perfect reeling rights all day

Didn't we have one of these threads a while ago...year or two? I thought we came to the conclusion that Belmar trumps all?

    Paging Mr. Belmar...

overrated? Didn't know we were even rated...

NJ surfers are the cockroaches of the surfing world. We'd survive a nuclear holocaust. Battling every conceivable adverse condition, from weeks-long flat spells to poisoned water does that to 'ya.

The best spot on the east coast is Buxton. Everyone knows it. It's the furthest point out on the continental shelf they get swells we don't even know about. New Jersey is ok and has its moments Delaware?? dunno I would never go there to surf period!

I'm old enough to have been around before beach replenishment. In my town every time they replenish the beaches our waves have improved. The waves in Ocean City are so much better today than they were in the 80s. Its not even close. Different but much better.

Long Beach Island is a different story but I look forward to the dredge every time it comes to Ocean City. Its coming to the South End this spring and hopefully will create some new spots down there like it did for us in the North End.

I wish beach replenishment was a reason that NJ was a bad place to be a surfer. That's the least of our problems.

That was aimed at cepriano, and my point is that every tool on the planet knows the cove and that aint it. Only a few guys are capable of gettin in that wave and know where and when to hit that secret spot. Its a heavy drop!
