Exactly, at least try to come at me with some better game if you're looking to get my business. I recommend you search the archives for HoSteveie's SwellInfo forum marketing strategy.
No sales goal to reach fellas. I know the owner and was just trying to help him out. Just offering a last minute christmas idea to anyone out there that may need one. Happy Holidays!!
no offense but shopping on a website that is not programmed properly and throws reference errors because it can't load jquery... because the site is https?? ...well, even if I did find something I'd want I wouldn't use it. Just some friendly advice
again. I was simply trying to help a friend out. I currently reside in Corpus Christi, TX. I grew up surfing with him. Does he live in the DFW area?? Yes. But that does not mean he can not own an online surf company or drive down to the coast or board a plane and travel to some of the best surf spots in the world....which we have done and still continue to do.
I just pulled up the site and had no issues at all. Also, "https" means it is a secured site. I will definitely pass the info on!!! Thanks for the heads up!!
are you using internet explorer, firefox?? again, i not having any issues on my work laptop or my mac.....
I used to have an Odessa, Texas Surf Club T-shirt. Brought it to good will and one of my students bought it.
@zaGaffer "Good thing your buddy who lives 6 hours from the coast is trying to make a buck off marketing "surf wear" tshirts to kids in Denton." His buddy seems like a smart entrepenuer, surfing is a "lifestyle brand." For example, Volcom broke into the market with the "Youth against establishment" campaign. Stylizing rebellion and anarchy against the mainstream. Kering has owned Volcom for several years now. Kering is one of the most established mainstream holding conglomerate out there. So.......If you want to turn a buck, surfing sells. On the other hand, I agree the guy needs to be genuine or it's not going to stick.
Don't you be talkin bad about Texas now, you dang... FOREIGNER! Heck, y'all even HAVE the interwebs up yonder in Canada? That's where all them hippie draft dodgers scurried off to in the 60s. You kin to one of them? Are YOU one of them? Commie. Just playin dude. But the site worked for me down here in the greatest state in the known universe. Just sayin...
Hey cadds. I know he ain't from Texas, but I gotta warn ya about the Gaffer. I'd steer clear of that one. He swings a MEAN sockeye salmon. You just ain't gonna win that one. I think he owns Trinidad and Tobago too.
Well, HELL! That 'splains everything! How in tarnation are you puttin up with CallyFornia? They got all sorts of dang weirdos out yonder!
Definitely should be calling people out on this. A lot of people think, hey, what's wrong with making a t-shirt company? And if it's successful, what's wrong with that? And what's wrong with spending my money where I want to spend it? In that reductionist viewpoint, nothing. But we don't live in a reductionist society. We live in an elitist-capitalist society. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, SALT LIFE. Look at what they have done. Look at what Volcom has done. Look at what DC has done. Look at Montauk; now with an average home price of nearly one million dollars. You think the local fisherman can afford that? You think your kids are going to be able to afford that when it's 1.5 mil in a decade? Anyone who complains about the current pussification of surfing, about the Salt Lifers, about the lack of etiquette in the lineup. Guess what? It's been sponsored directly by those wonderful 'entrepreneurs,' the lifestyle t-shirt makers of the world. The craftsmen of our world will be shoved aside and forgotten. This is the nature of capitalism.
Yeah, Gaff. The surf is a wee bit better there! I'm not actually here in G-Town for the surf. When I got fed up with the rat race a few years back, just said F*** it to the city in ATL. My Mom and sis live here, and had been tryin for years to get me here. Sis said pack what you can fit in your car and get yer a** down here. I did, and never left. I know the waves ain't so hot, but it's enough for my old butt. Mom is up in years and really likes havin me 4 blocks away. It's worth it here for me, as it is there for you I reckon. Life is good. red tide
