I know of Croatan, the 1st st Jetty and 15th st pier. Where else is there? I know across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge whenever I cross it the state park over there is going off pretty consistently. Thanks in advance guys, not exactly used to an inconsistent area like this especially coming from San Diego.
search bar really helps, but to give you a good heads up any spot on witchduck road is your best bet the way the bottom contour is step up just makes this stretch of beach a swell magnet last week i caught witch duck and holland 1/2 overhead and pitching aframe barrels good luck dude its bittercold this week and looks like next week might as well

Personally, I'm a fan of Sandbridge. Good spots are Northend of SB by Dam Neck and at the S-Turns about halfway to Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. SUPPOSEDLY surfing is allowed at False Cape Nat'l Park but it's quite the ordeal to get down there so I've yet to venture there. Not really in VB but if you've got a boat and feel like crossing the Chesapeake Bay then Fisherman's Island has the best surf in the East Coast - trouble is the conditions have to be absolutely perfect (so once a year maybe if you're lucky) and you're not allowed to touch land or you'll get arrested (so you've got to anchor off the island) in addition to the sharks that're out there.
when i used to live in ocean lakes, a canal that fed into back bay ran behind our house, so me and a couple of guys would always take our bud's aluminum skiff down to false cape landing and walk across the barrier spit. Never caught it that good there, but it goes off on big south swells. An even better spot is wash woods, which is further south. there's a landing there off of back bay as well, but a longer hike to the beach. i scored there once a few years ago. basically, you gotta have a boat to get to these spots. otherwise, a bike with side-riding racks will work too. make sure you pack food, water and bug spray. Scypher: as far as VB goes, just pull off of Atlantic Ave and check every few blocks until you hit first street and find a bar. of course, i'm not gonna blow up any spots, but there are plenty of sandbars working right now. sandbridge is a good option as well.
what that guy said. ya what that last guy said csb or what ev, is probably the best advice you gonne get. we only really have 89 streets of beach, with the exception of all the beaches south of the main ocean front. just check around, find a spot that has a wave and crowd that looks straight for you and be stoked. haha. just not anytime soon cause its freezing. i havent surfed since i got back from california like 2 weeks ago now...
