I'm 5'6" 150lbs and I've been surfing for about 4-5 years. I currently ride a 5'10" x 19.25 x 2.35 Sharp Eye, Glide surfboard. I feel like I can go smaller but I'm not sure on what size to go for. I was thinking of getting a 5'8" x 18 5/8 x 2.35 not sure on what model or brand to go for. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

If you go shorter like the 5'8 or even a 5'6 go a little wider to help you compensate for length change. Sharp Eye makes a solid stick so if you like them just get a diff model. I always recommend a custom from a local shaper......You get exactly what you want and keep more $$$$ in your pocket.

For your size @ 5'6" a 5'10" Glider is on the big side. I had a ton of Marcio's Gliders and they went best between 1-3" over my height. I'd say try one in the dimensions you mentioned in your post. I find that often when you change shapers completely the dimensions can be pretty far off- I switched from Sharp Eyes to CI and had to go way down- then I started with another shaper and had to go back up. That can be costly.

Thanks. I talked to a shop owner and he told me that I should get a 5'4" dumpster diver but I wish I could try one before buying it.
