A family friend of mine gave me his WRV 5'8 Flying Nugget (don't have full dims in front of me but its 26l vs. 28l) just wondering if anyone knows anything about this board or has had experience with it?

I'm not a big winter surfer so I haven't gone out with it yet. Kind of looks like a CI Weirdo Ripper or swallow tailed Rusty Dwart

    Thanks!

It's sick. I nearly got that, but I chose a fish and rocket fish since it was the same amount out of pocket but I get 2 boards. Great shape and brad is right on about it. Enjoy

I will also give you my good job Alabama jar. It has a quarter in it for every good thing Alabama has ever done!

I was thinking about it if I got any negative feedback about it but I think I will wait til warmer weather to make my final decision after some time in the water. It is in pretty great shape though - he said he only used it a hand full of times but wasn't in love with it and had recently picked up a new board.

    I will let you know!

What fin setup do you have on the fugget? I just got the board but with no fins and I'm trying to figure out what would be best - FCS. I only have super basic "G5" tri set from my fun board and I'm pretty clueless about fins

Caroline, I guess your friend is trying to steal my thunder. I bought that board for you, to win you over, and your friend said they'd explain that upon delivery...did you get the flowers too?

Uhm from my experience don't get too caught up in a this model or that model. It's a marketing gimmick.

If it goes for you it goes for you.

Oh and it takes like 2 weeks to dial in a new board.

I have fcs 2 so I went with the reactors (mediums), it works really nice in chest to head high racey bowls...

If it's shaped by Mike Doyle, keep it. His are for bigger surfers. He made me a 7'0 with plenty of beef to float my azz still duck dive.

looks killer...but it all depends on if it's the right size for you (and what condition yours is in). It's got enough rocker so you don't pearl when walls start jacking...little flip in the nose, too. Nice foil...plenty of foam in the nose so you can scooch up a bit for extra paddle power. Ripper, for sure.

I just ordered a Roberts "Mutant"...similar shape, although the nugget is more on the performance end of the grovel spectrum.
